The Auckland Design Manual team will be at this year’s Paradigm Shift event on 5th May, where we are particularly looking forward to the evening’s feature discussion between Usman Haque (Umbrellium, London) and Auckland’s Design Champion Ludo Campbell-Reid.
The session should provide a provocative and playful exploration of how Aucklanders may better engage with the places, spaces and buildings that make up our city. With all the buzz around ‘smart cities’ and big data, the work of Usman’s Umbrellium agency provides a useful insight into the limits and opportunities of these emerging technologies, and we look forward to hearing how this may be developed in the city of sails.
The Paradigm Shift event will also provide an opportunity for the ADM team to discuss the Auckland Design Manual website, and to explore with attendees how it may better support designers in the region. The ADM is intended to evolve to provide a platform for design in Auckland, enabling our investments throughout the city to perform better through the value of design.
Paradigm Shift is a free CPD event taking place across Auckland, Tauranga, Wellington, Christchurch, and Queenstown.
Architects, designers and other industry professionals are invited to hear Usman’s keynote presentation, learn about the latest products and technology from industry-leading event partners, including the ADM team in Auckland.
