About the blog

The ADMblog was first published in December 2014. The goal was to provide a platform for commentary and intelligent debate on the design of Auckland’s built environment, from our homes, buildings and streets, to our parks, open spaces and neighbourhoods.

The ADMblog is managed by a dedicated team of two, with a range of additional guest contributors. The ADM team supervises the editorial direction of the blog.

While the ADMblog is hosted by Auckland Council, the opinions expressed in the posts are solely the opinions of the individual authors at a particular point and time. They are not the opinions of Auckland Council or any other organisations with which the authors are affiliated.

We do our best to ensure accuracy but any information published on this blog should be regarded as a general guide only. The Council is not responsible for any actions taken or not taken on the basis of such information and Council expressly excludes any liability for any such inaccuracies or errors to the fullest extent permitted by law.

Any suggestions to improve the ADMblog are welcome. Please email us with your feedback: enquiries@aucklanddesignmanual.co.nz.

Content policy

The comment stream is an important feature of the ADMblog and we want it to remain a civil and respectful space. Our content policy is important in maintaining the positive experience for you, the users. We may change our content policy from time to time, so please check back here. We also may make exceptions based on artistic, educational, documentary, or scientific considerations or where there are other substantial benefits to the public from not taking action on the comments provided.

The ADM team monitors the blog and decides what is acceptable and what isn’t. We reserve the right to delete comments and block accounts which, in our opinion, breach this policy.

Identity: Commenters are encouraged to use their real names. The use of multiple anonymous identities is not allowed.

Opinions: When you state an opinion or argument, try to use clear and logical reasoning and back it with references as it makes the debate much more interesting. Don’t use obsessive arguing in a thread or repeated statements without supporting evidence.

Goods and Services: Do not use this blog to sell, promote, or facilitate products and/or services.

Harassment: Do not harass or bully others. Do not use sexist, racist or other offensive comments.

Copyright: We will respond to notices of alleged copyright infringement and will remove any comments or posts immediately. The same applies to comments which link to sites where unauthorized downloads are offered.

The blog contains material which is owned by or licensed to us and include, but is not limited to, the design, layout, look, appearance and graphics. Reproduction is prohibited.

If you see any behaviour which you consider inappropriate or in breach of this policy, please report it to us here: enquiries@aucklanddesignmanual.co.nz.
